Gelderse Smalspoor Stichting (GSS)(Gelderland Narrow Gauge Foundation)

The Gelderse Smalspoor Stichting (GSS) is a railway museum that was founded in 1984 in the Gelderland town of Wijchen.

Between 1991 and 1996 there was a collaboration with playground De Blije Dries in Wijchen. Here, visitors to the playground could take a ride on the narrow-gauge train on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays. The line described a circuit of 800 metres and was laid in a gravel bed. The depot was modest. At the time, the collection included around 15 narrow-gauge locomotives. After the period at De Blije Dries, the majority of the collection was stored for some time on old NS stake wagons at the Nijmegen yard.

After 14 months a new location was found in the Ooijpolder near the village of Ooij on the site of the Wienerberger brick factory in Erlecom . The line had to be largely dismantled when a sand and gravel extraction area (of the company K3) was created next to the brick factory in 2003. This sand extraction forced the GSS to change location again before the end of 2006.

The museum has been located on the site of the Randwijk Brickworks in Heteren (Municipality of Overbetuwe ) since October 2005. The brickworks is a national monument . The museum has a 700 mm main line on which field gauge equipment is used. The museum mainly collects material that was used in the brick industry.
