TÅGAB (Tågåkeriet i Bergslagen AB)

TÅGAB or in Swedish: Tågåkeriet i Bergslagen AB is a Swedish railway company with headquarters in Kristinehamn. It was started in 1994 and runs trains in both Sweden and Norway.

Since 2001, passenger transport has been organised by the regional railway company Tåg i Bergslagen. It uses both Bombardier Regina and SJ X12 railcars. On weekdays during the day, trains run every two hours between Ludvika and Fagersta, and every hour from Fagersta to Västerås. On weekends and public holidays, there are two-hourly services on the entire route. Freight traffic is mainly to the industrial plants along the route, but there are also occasional through freight trains, mostly via Ängelsberg–Snyten to or from Avesta Krylbo.

Between Gävle and Frövi, Tåg i Bergslagen run regional trains hourly in each direction using the Regina. Trains continue from Frövi south to Örebro and Mjölby.

In 1999, two locomotives of type: SJ T43 and TMY. Both from the company were painted in the colors of the U.S. Great Northern Railway to participate in Lars von Trier's film Dancer in the Dark, which was set in the United States but filmed in Sweden.
